Promoting Fair Competition Across Industries
Michele has focused her practice for over 30 years on complex business litigation, including antitrust, intellectual property, unfair competition, business torts, and fraud cases.
Over the course of her practice, Michele has developed an in-depth knowledge of business practices in a wide range of industries, such as brand-name prescription drugs, computer software and hardware, electronic equipment, cosmetics, packaged and frozen food, shipping, motion pictures, publishing, educational games, chemicals, office products, and financial printing. She has represented businesses and individuals in cases involving price-fixing, monopolization, distribution and supply disputes, challenges to mergers and other company control devices, misappropriation of intellectual property, trade secrets, employment of competitors’ personnel, and trademark infringement.
Michele played a leading role in the private antitrust litigation against Microsoft Corporation, which resulted in settlements totaling over $700 million for businesses and consumers in multiple states. She was also an architect of the 2006 nationwide settlements of antitrust litigation against 3M Company for allegedly conspiring with certain retailers to monopolize the sale of Scotch-brand invisible and transparent tape.
Michele has had a continuing interest in innovative litigation and trial practices. Most recently, she has spearheaded, with co-counsel, the design and implementation of a virtually paper-free evidence analysis and sharing of work product in the massive Liquid Crystal Displays ("LCDs") litigation.
