Bank of America Credit Protection Plus Complaints

  • Issue: Fraud and false advertising

Lieff Cabraser is investigating alleged unfair business practices by Bank of America concerning its credit card operations.

What is Bank of America Credit Protection Plus?

Protection Plus is a financial product offered by Bank of America (BofA) to its credit card customers. Under Credit Protection Plus, BofA promises to suspend the cardholders minimum monthly payments if the cardholder loses a job, is on disability, and for other reasons. In exchange, the cardholders pay a monthly fee based on their credit card balance.

What have Bank of American Customers Alleged?

In lawsuits filed against BofA, cardholders charge that they never agreed to sign up or pay for Protection Plus. For those that did enroll in the program, customers allege that they were misled about the programs' benefits and exclusions and BofA did not provide the credit protection it promised.
