CorrectDeck Home And Outdoor Deck Consumer Complaints Investigation

The national law firm of Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP, is currently investigating consumer complaints about CorrectDeck home decking.
Correct Building Products, LLC, manufactures and sells composite deck boards for outdoor deck projects, including CorrectDeck and CorrectDeck CX. These products are made of recycled hardwood sawdust and polypropylene plastic.
Correct Building Products claims CorrectDeck and CorrectDeck CX are premium construction materials, advertising them as easy to maintain and not rotting, splintering or cracking like wood decking. The company claims that CorrectDeck’s polypropylene composite makes it superior to wood and other composites and that CorrectDeck CX contains Microban® antimicrobial protection which resists mold and mildew that cause stains and discoloration on wood and other decking.
Home owners have alleged that mold, mildew and other dark spots have appeared on their CorrectDeck and CorrectDeck CX decks in spite of proper installation and proper maintenance.
Consumer Legal Rights
State and federal laws provide consumers with remedies for products that were defectively designed or manufactured or do not perform as advertised. This is true in many cases even after the warranty period has expired.
While the cost for a consumer to hire an attorney and file an individual lawsuit against the manufacturer of the defective product is often prohibitive, the law does not leave the consumer powerless. A small number of consumers may file a class action lawsuit, representing all consumers that purchased the defective product. A class action suit can provide a powerful and effective means for consumers to compel a corporation to acknowledge its legal responsibilities and provide just compensation to the class members.
