ABTCO TrimBoard (Window and Door Trim) Consumer Complaint Investigation
The national law firm of Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP, is investigating consumer complaints concerning an allegedly defective composite wood exterior trim product known as ABTco TrimBoard that is manufactured and sold by Louisiana-Pacific Corporation and its subsidiary, ABT Building Products Corporation.
ABTco wood TrimBoard is used for fascia, soffit, corner board, window trim, door trim and general exterior use on homes, apartments, condominiums, buildings, and other structures.
ABTco TrimBoard: Alleged Defects
- Homeowners and other consumers who have purchased ABTco TrimBoard have alleged that the wood trim was defective, resulting in deterioration and loss of structural integrity:
- premature deterioration, rotting, swelling, buckling, delamination, absorbtion of water, warping, and/or bulging under normal conditions and natural, outdoor exposure; and
- the promotion of the growth of mold, mildew, fungi, and insect infestation in the structures in which it is installed.
