AT&T IT Worker Overtime Pay
Class Action Lawsuit
On February 2, 2010, a former AT&T technical support worker filed a class action lawsuit charging that AT&T Operations, Inc. has a common practice of misclassifying its technical support workers as exempt and failing to pay them for all overtime hours worked in violation of federal overtime pay laws. AT&T employs several thousand technical support workers nationwide.
AT&T's technical support workers are responsible for installing, maintaining, and/or supporting computer software and hardware. Relevant positions/titles include:
- Business Manager of IT
- Senior Business Manager of IT
- Project Manager of IT
- Senior Project Manager of IT
- Senior IT Analyst
- Technical Architect
- Senior Technical Architect
- Principal Technical Architect
- Technical Design Engineer
The lawsuit alleges that these workers were unlawfully denied overtime pay.
