Estratest® and Estratest H.S.® Investigation
Estratest® is a hormone replacement therapy drug manufactured by Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Solvay has manufactured Estratest® since 1964, and has manufactured Estratest H.S.®, a half strength version, since 1975.
The manufacturer of Estratest® states that it is indicated in the treatment of moderate to sever vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause in those patients not improved by estrogen alone.
As determined by a federal court of appeals, at the time of Estratest's® entry into the marketplace, and later Estratest H.S.®, Solvay did not have, nor has it ever had over the past thirty-five years, approval for the drugs from the Food and Drug Administration that the drugs were safe and effective.
