September 13, 2006

U.S. District Judge James Ware granted preliminary approval to a class action lawsuit against Dell, Inc., by current and former owners of the Dell Inspiron 5150 who alleged certain defects with the notebook computer.

The settlement provides a new extended one-year limited warranty to cover certain failures in the motherboard and power supply components in their notebooks, as well as a refund to class members who previously paid Dell or a third party to repair certain failures in the motherboard and power supply components in their notebooks.
