The Herald-Citizen, "Jury finds Livingston Middle School negligent"
A four-week-long trial involving a lawsuit against the Overton County School System ended Friday, and the 12-member jury has yet to make a decision. The lawsuit against Overton schools and security company Edutech stems from cameras in a dressing room at Livingston Middle School. The case originated several years ago when a team visiting Livingston Middle School noticed cameras in a dressing room. Those cameras allegedly recorded images that were recorded on a computer hard drive and could be accessed over the Internet. "These children and their parents are here to right a wrong," said attorney Mark Chalos of the Lieff Cabraser law firm in Nashville, who is representing the plaintiffs. "The camera in a dressing room in a middle school, the school officials let it happen," he said. "They knew about it, and they didn't care."
