WBIR, "Jury awards students $40,000 each over locker room tapings"
A jury on Tuesday awarded $40,000 each in damages to 32 students who were taped by Internet-connected cameras in locker rooms at a Middle Tennessee middle school. The families had sued the Overton County schools and security company Edutech over taping in 2002 and 2003 by cameras in the boys' and girls' dressing rooms at Livingston Middle School. "The families were very grateful to the jury. This was a four-week trial. It was a very long one," said Mark Chalos, one of four attorneys representing the students and their families.
