Lieff Cabraser attorney Daniel Hutchinson has been named co-chair of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights (“LCCR”) of the San Francisco Bay Area. The organization has been a visionary leader in the fight for racial justice, economic equality, and immigrant rights.
The national LCCR was founded at the behest of President Kennedy in 1963 to assist in the civil rights struggle in the South. The San Francisco Bay Area LCCR was founded in 1968 after the assassination of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., to carry on Dr. King’s work, enlisting lawyers to assist members of low-income communities, especially African Americans. A long list of distinguished attorneys have served in leadership positions of the San Francisco Bay Area LCCR.
