Law360, a subsidiary of LexisNexis, has named Lieff Cabraser attorney Kelly M. Dermody as one of the top six employment lawyers in the nation and designated her an “Employment MVP” for 2014. As Law360 explains, the award honors “elite attorneys” who have had outstanding “successes in high-stakes litigation, record-breaking deals and complex global matters.”
Dermody has been at the forefront of gender discrimination cases brought by professional women against Bank of America and Goldman Sachs. In addition to leading Lieff Cabraser’s employment practice group, Dermody is the managing partner of the firm’s San Francisco office, where she leads a team of nearly a dozen attorneys who have taken on cases targeting some of the nation’s largest companies, including Apple Inc. and Google Inc.
“I’m a 24/7 person when it comes to cases that I work on,” Dermody stated to Law360. “For some people it feels like work, but for me it feels like a life passion. I feel very rewarded.” Law360 notes that Dermody’s “dedicated approach to her work has led [her] to an impressive string of successes over the past year.”
