Lexi Hazam Discusses Benicar Side Effect Injuries and Lawsuits
Hazam is a partner in Lieff Cabraser’s San Francisco office, and an emerging leader within the plaintiffs’ bar, representing clients in mass tort cases and qui tam actions, along with complex class actions. She currently represents several hundred hip replacement patients in litigation over the DePuy ASR hip replacement (in which the firm has recovered over $30 million for its clients so far), the DePuy Pinnacle metal-on-metal hip device litigation, and the Stryker Rejuvenate implant cases.
Her qui tam cases include the $68 million settlement of litigation against Office Depot for overcharging California school districts and cities for school supplies; the $21.7 million settlement of litigation against Avaya, Lucent Technologies, and AT&T for charging governmental agencies for the lease of communications systems they no longer possessed; and several other cases alleging Medicare fraud.
