In its inaugural review of the nation’s top trial lawyers, Law360 selected Lieff Cabraser attorney Richard Heimann as a “trial ace.” Just one of 50 attorneys recognized, Heimann is the only trial ace practicing at a law firm that solely represents plaintiffs.

A lawyer’s lawyer, Heimann oversees Lieff Cabraser’s securities and financial fraud practice group and is the lead trial attorney at Lieff Cabraser. He possesses an unparalleled trial track record of success across multiple practice areas, including securities fraud, banking/consumer fraud, ‎antitrust, and tort claims.

Heimann began his legal career as a deputy public defender and later served as an assistant district attorney. From this foundation, Richard has become one of the nation’s foremost trial attorneys and skilled negotiators. Law360 observed, Heimann “does not shy away from taking down industry heavyweights for shady conduct, zealously steering more than 100 criminal and civil trials throughout a decades long career with cool logic and persuasiveness.”

“It’s intellectually challenging interesting work [that’s] rarely redundant and there’s always a new challenge,” stated Heimann to Law360. “Each case has its own aspects to it that are rarely similar to the last case, so that’s what’s keeping me going on.”

The 50 U.S. trial aces were selected by Law360 based on the number of high-stakes trial they’ve worked on, the role they played at trial and the trial outcome. These attorneys are, Law360 notes, “champions in the courtroom, leaders in their law firms and heroes to their clients.”

This is the second significant award Heimann has recently received. Best Lawyers has named Heimann as its Securities Litigator of the Year for 2016 for the San Francisco Bay Area.
