Elizabeth Cabraser Speaks with MarketWatch

As MSN’s MarketWatch reported today, mandatory arbitration clauses are in the fine print of many contracts for credit cards, bank accounts and other non-financial services which prevent consumers from bringing class action lawsuits against such companies.

MarketWatch spoke with Lieff Cabraser attorney Elizabeth Cabraser, whose comments are included in the report. “Consumers who sign arbitration agreements that ban class actions are giving up their rights to use the only legal mechanism that is cost-effective when they’ve been damaged or cheated,” noted Cabraser.
