Lieff Cabraser is a Rockstar Sponsor of the firm band, The R-23s, who will be performing at Ms. JD’s Fourth Annual Cocktail Benefit for the Global Education Fund on August 22, 2016 at Doc’s Lab in San Francisco. This year’s benefit will help raise funds in support of scholarships for eight inspiring women pursuing law at Makerere University in Uganda.
The event includes live music by bands from Bay Area law firms, as well as a silent auction. The silent auction will feature tickets to the San Francisco Opera, the San Francisco Symphony, the Smuin Ballet, and the Giants, along with an autographed photo of Buster Posey.
About Ms. JD
Ms. JD is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase the representation of women in the legal profession. It maintains campus chapters throughout the country and an online community for dialogue and networking among women lawyers and law students. It is also home to the National Women Law Students’ Organization. Ms. JD celebrates women’s achievements, addresses challenges, and facilitates progress by bringing legal practitioners and law students together to share in an ongoing conversation about gender issues in law school and the profession.

The Global Education Fund (GEF) is an organization run by the Ms. JD Global Education Fund Program Council with an initiative to support women in developing countries to pursue legal educations, encouraging the rise of women lawyers worldwide.

Lieff Cabraser’s band, The R-23s, recently won the Judge’s Choice Award at the Family Violence Appellate Project’s 2016 Battle of the Bands event. The band has played songs by The Clash, Otis Redding, Cream, and Chuck Berry.
