The National Law Journal has selected Lieff Cabraser for its 2016 “Elite Trial Lawyers” list in the category of Class Action. The Elite Trial Lawyers award recognizes “law firms that achieved high-dollar recoveries for clients and that did some of the most creative and significant work on the plaintiffs side.” Lieff Cabraser was a co-winner for Class Action with the Cohen Milstein firm.
In October, the Journal named 35 firms as finalists among the categories of antitrust, class actions, employment, financial institutions, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, products liability, securities, and special litigation. According to the NLJ, “To qualify for inclusion, firms have to have scored at least one significant plaintiffs win during the contest time period and possess an impressive track record of wins over the past three to five years. A ‘significant win’ means prevailing in a bench or jury trial or in a major settlement where the stakes are high.”
The National Law Journal selected the nine honoree firms after thorough research, analysis and nomination vetting by editors and reporters at VerdictSearch, Law.com and the NLJ. The Journal notes that in recognizing the critical role of teamwork in successful trial work, the awards recognize the work of firms as a whole, rather than specific individuals.
