Lieff Cabraser partner Wendy R. Fleishman will be speaking at the Practising Law Institute’s “Women Lawyers in Leadership” seminar on January 26, 2018 at the PLI New York Center in New York City. As PLI describes the program, “Although the glass ceiling has cracks, there are still obstacles to its complete shatter. More women are needed in leadership positions in the legal profession. Despite equal numbers of women entering the legal profession, female attorneys still lag in equity partnerships and leadership positions.”
While equal numbers of women enter the legal profession, female lawyers still lag in equity partnerships and leadership positions. This program will give women attorneys a chance to join informative conversation and hear from PLI’s panel of women who have successfully broken through. Topics include strategies for obtaining and maximizing lead or co-lead positions; strategies for overcoming unconscious bias; obtaining sponsorships and mentorships; planning career tracks; and leaning leadership techniques from both plaintiff and defense attorneys, among others.
Wendy will be speaking on the panel, “Getting a Seat at the Table and What to do Once You’ve Obtained Your Seat: Tips for Women Lawyers,” which will address:
- How to get appointed as lead counsel
- What Judges look for when deciding leadership
- Should women play the gender card?
- Negotiation tips for women lawyers
- How to be valued once you’re serving as lead counsel
- Why do men get many of the prominent roles?
