Aerospace Engineers Pay Suppression Lawsuit

On December 17th, 2021, Lieff Cabraser’s labor-antitrust group filed a lawsuit against Pratt & Whitney and other aerospace companies alleging wage-fixing and illegal no-hire compacts affecting aerospace engineers in the U.S. aerospace industry. The filing follows a separate Department of Justice complaint containing similar allegations.

Lieff Cabraser has filed a class action lawsuit alleging an illegal agreement between and among Pratt & Whitney and other aerospace engineering firms not to solicit, recruit, or hire one another’s employees, including but not limited to engineers. Pratt is a subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies Corp.

On December 9, 2021, the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut unsealed a criminal complaint by the Department of Justice accusing a former aerospace executive, Mahesh Patel of Pratt & Whitney, of organizing and enforcing the unlawful no-poach agreement.
