Collections agency working for healthcare provider OPKO Health suffers major data breach from August 2018 through March 2019 exposing the personal and financial data of customers
Lieff Cabraser is investigating complaints about a data breach suffered by healthcare company OPKO Health over the exposure of patient personal financial records. It has been reported that patient records from OPKO were impacted by the data breach from its collections agent American Medical Collection Agency. The breached data reportedly includes credit card numbers, bank account information, and Social Security numbers.
Please note that the exposed data only relates to OPKO customers whose billing was submitted for follow-up collections by American Medical Collection Agency. Though the breach began as far as back as August of 2018 and continued until the end of March 2019, information provided to OPKO at an earlier date could still be impacted.
