Buttram v. UPS, Inc.
Lieff Cabraser and several co-counsel represented a class of approximately 14,000 African-American part-time hourly employees of UPS's Pacific and Northwest Regions alleging race discrimination in promotions and job advancement.
In 1999, the Court approved a $12.14 million settlement of the action. Under the injunctive relief portion of the settlement, among other things, Class Counsel continues to monitor the promotions of African-American part-time hourly employees to part-time supervisor and full-time package car driver.
