Last Friday’s deadly school shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas was the 22nd school shooting in the United States since the start of 2018. The gun violence crisis in the U.S. impacts every community across the country. Each year, 125,000 Americans are shot – leaving us with over one million casualties dealing with gun violence from the last decade alone. Something must be done to change these statistics.
The Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence is dedicated to researching, writing, enacting, and defending proven laws and programs with a mission to save lives from gun violence by shifting culture, changing policies, and challenging injustice at local, state, and national levels. On June 14th, the Giffords Law Center will be hosting its 25th Anniversary dinner, honoring Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, a stalwart advocate for gun safety laws. Secretary Clinton will be honored with the 2018 Courageous Leadership Award in recognition of her unwavering calls for stronger gun laws, which have helped propel both reflection and conversation about the ongoing firearm epidemic that is devastating our nation.
The anniversary dinner will take place at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco, California. Lieff Cabraser is a Frontrunner sponsor of the event.
The possibility of a future eliminating wanton gun violence starts now. For sponsorship information and tickets, visit giffordslawcenter.org/dinner.
