We are proud to share that our firm was recognized as a 2025 Defender of Justice at Equal Rights Advocates’ (ERA) Annual Gala Luncheon on June 5, 2025, held at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco.
This year’s gala was more than a celebration; it was a rallying cry for the rule of law, gender justice, and our communities in the face of escalating threats. The event brought together advocates, jurists, business leaders, and community members to celebrate shared victories and recommit to the fight ahead. Lieff Cabraser is honored to stand among ERA’s trusted legal allies in advancing justice and defending democracy.
Equal Rights Advocates celebrated firms that have made significant legal contributions to protect workers, safeguard civil rights, and challenge systemic inequity. Lieff Cabraser was recognized for serving as co-counsel with ERA in a landmark pay equity case against Vassar College, and for the firm’s work defending federal public servants against unconstitutional executive overreach.
The 2025 Gala Luncheon featured moving remarks from Charlotte A. Burrows, Chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and recipient of the Ramey Gender Justice Award. Other honorees included prominent movement leaders such as:
- Alicia Garza, Principal of Black Futures Lab and co-founder of Black Lives Matter (Community Power Champion)
- The National Taskforce on Tradeswomen Issues
- The California Domestic Workers Coalition
Congratulations to all the selected honorees!
