Lieff Cabraser Nashville attorney Betsy Sugar has been named a finalist for the Daily Report’s 2026 “Most Promising Newcomer” award.
The honor recognizes rising attorneys making an early impact in the legal profession. Honorees will be recognized at an awards ceremony on May 7 in Atlanta.
In a Q&A with the Daily Report, Betsy discussed her initiative in both her practice and her efforts to support the next generation of plaintiffs’ lawyers. While still a student at Vanderbilt Law School, she co-founded a plaintiffs’ litigation society to help connect students with resources and career pathways in plaintiffs’ law, an area she saw was often overlooked.
Since joining Lieff Cabraser, she has continued that work through speaking engagements and mentorship, including panels focused on expanding access to plaintiffs’ litigation careers. Her practice has also included representing authors in copyright litigation involving generative AI.
Congratulations to Betsy on this well-deserved recognition.
