Tireless advocates for consumers and personal injury victims, both Kevin and Phong are part of the leadership team in the Volkswagen “Clean Diesel” litigation, as well as the Fiat-Chrysler “EcoDiesel” litigation. Both automakers were alleged to have cheated their customers and misled the public with so-called “defeat devices” that artificially reduced emissions during testing but thereafter permitted the discharge of vast amounts of toxic pollutants into the environment in violation of U.S. clean air laws. Lawyers for the plaintiffs in the VW case secured an unprecedented $14+ billion in settlements on behalf of U.S. owners and lessees of VW 2.0 and 3.0-liter engine diesel vehicles. The Fiat Chrysler emissions suit is still ongoing.
Both Kevin and Phong also helped secure significant and meaningful settlements for the injured in the General Motors Ignition Switch Defect litigation and the Medtronic Infuse litigation.
