Lieff Cabraser is proud to announce that it has organized an office building-wide drive to collect much-needed household goods for children in need at Youth Villages of Middle Tennessee. The successful drive resulted in the donation of several truckloads of goods including household items, clothing, books, and games. Youth Villages is a national organization that provides support for children and young people who face difficulty in emotional, mental, and behavioral areas.

“Youth Villages does important work to help young people in our community succeed,” said Mark Chalos, managing partner of Lieff Cabraser Nashville. “Lieff Cabraser is very happy to offer this donation to support Youth Villages’ efforts on behalf of Nashville children.”

The donation benefits Youth Villages’ LifeSet program, which helps children transition from foster care into independent living, college, technical school, and job programs.

“Many of the youth in the LifeSet program are on very tight budgets and struggle to afford basic need items, especially clothing,” said Tawanda McDonald-Johnson, LifeSet Regional Manager for Youth Villages of Middle Tennessee.  “These donations will be a big help to many of these young people who cannot afford clothing and house goods, but will be able to furnish their apartment, dorm room, etcetera. These items will in some cases help a young person cook more meals at home or hang something on a wall, but in all cases will help make their place feel more like ‘home.’ ”

Youth Villages is a national leader in children’s mental and behavioral health committed to building strong families, delivering effective services, and significantly improving outcomes for child welfare systems across the country. Founded in 1986, the organization’s 3,000-plus employees help more than 30,000 children annually in 20 states across the U.S. The organization has been recognized by the Harvard Business School and U.S. News & World Report and was identified by The White House as one of the nation’s most promising results-oriented nonprofit organizations.
