We are delighted to announce that the Daily Journal (subscription) has named Lieff Cabraser partners Elizabeth Cabraser, Kelly Dermody and Richard Heimann to its annual listing of “Top Plaintiff Lawyers in California.” The Top Plaintiff Lawyer awards acknowledge attorneys’ active involvement in “significant cases that make a difference in California and the world.”
Elizabeth is recognized for her current role in the National Prescription Opiates litigation on behalf of cities, counties, and Native American tribes and health organizations seeking justice from manufacturers and distributors of prescription opioid drugs for their role in the destructive opioid epidemic raging across the U.S.
The Journal commends Kelly for her groundbreaking work leading the Lieff Cabraser team that successfully challenged the Trump Administration’s improper withholding of CARES Act stimulus funds from incarcerated Americans, leading to the release and distribution of $1.5 billion in stimulus funds in what may be the single largest recovery for a targeted class from a single lawsuit in history.
Richard’s profile focuses on his role as Chair of Lieff Cabraser’s securities and financial fraud practice group, including recent record-setting settlements won in derivative actions against Boeing and Wells Fargo, among others. Richard is also currently leading Lieff Cabraser’s work on behalf of the City and County of San Francisco in a bellwether bench trial holding opioid manufacturers and distributors accountable for their actions in creating and perpetuating the prescription opioid abuse crisis still devastating communities across the U.S.
Congratulations to Elizabeth, Kelly and Richard on this prestigious recognition!
