Lieff Cabraser partner Phong-Chau G. Nguyen will be featured as a distinguished speaker at the Second Annual Shades of Mass Conference taking place next week, September 21-23, 2023, at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. On day two of the conference (9/22), Phong will take part in a panel discussion entitled “Class Action and Securities MDLs – A Primer,” which will provide a comparative analysis of class action, auto, and securities MDLs, and examine how each type of litigation operates, the legal standards to which they adhere, and the key factors that contribute to their resolution.
Shades of Mass, founded in 2022, is a first-of-its-kind organization, dedicated to advocating for and facilitating the involvement of Black and Brown attorneys in mass tort litigations, along with their appointment to leadership roles in federal and state-based centralized civil actions.

About Phong-Chau Nguyen
A partner in Lieff Cabraser’s San Francisco office, Phong-Chau G. Nguyen specializes in consumer and defective product cases as well as personal injury/mass tort matters. He was part of the leadership team in the Volkswagen Diesel Emissions multidistrict litigation, which secured an unprecedented $14+ billion in settlements on behalf of U.S. owners and lessees of Volkswagen diesel vehicles, and won a finalist position for the 2017 Consumer Attorneys of California “Consumer Attorneys of the Year” award.
