The session will provide an update on the federal class action against Textron Aviation, Inc. and a technical presentation by an aerospace engineering expert on the alleged safety defect.

NEW YORK, June 4, 2026 (BUSINESS WIRE)–Owners and operators of Cessna Citation Model 525C (CJ4) aircraft are invited to a virtual town hall on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. The session will cover the status of the class action that Lieff Cabraser and Epps Holloway filed against Textron Aviation, Inc. (NYSE: TXT)  in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas (JCC Transport, LLC v. Textron Aviation, Inc., No. 2:25-cv-02514), and it will feature a technical presentation on the alleged safety defect in the CJ4. The lawsuit alleges that a uniform defect causes corrosion in the structural components of the Cessna Citation CJ4, particularly the frames of the windshield and cockpit windows. According to the complaint, if left unchecked, that corrosion can render an affected aircraft unairworthy and could lead to catastrophic failure.

In April 2024, Textron issued Service Bulletin SB525C-56-01, recommending that aircraft in the affected CJ4 fleet be inspected, and repaired as necessary, to address a window frame condition that causes “moisture incursion.” To date, Textron has not acknowledged that this condition results from a common defect present across the CJ4 fleet, and it has not warned owners of the safety risks that the plaintiffs allege the corrosion poses. The complaint further alleges that Textron is charging owners and lessees hundreds of thousands of dollars for repairs that do not fully resolve the underlying defect, rather than bearing the full cost of correcting it.

At the town hall, Dr. Ron Barrett, a professor of aerospace engineering at the University of Kansas and an elected Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, will present background on the technical issues addressed by Service Bulletin SB525C-56-01. His presentation will draw on publicly available technical literature, FAA guidance, the Service Bulletin, and inspections of affected aircraft. Counsel will then provide an update on the litigation, explain how class action litigation generally works, and outline the legal options available to affected owners and operators. A Q&A session will follow.

Owners and operators whose aircraft have already been inspected or repaired by Textron under the Service Bulletin are also encouraged to attend. The session will address potential ramifications of those repairs for their aircraft.
