BMW Cupholder Defect and Related Airbag Accidents
Lieff Cabraser is investigating multiple complaints from BMW owners and lessees that the cup holders in their BMW vehicles are defectively designed, such that liquids are not safely or adequately contained, leading to spills that leak fluid into the airbag control module directly beneath the cup holders and damage the airbag, sometimes even causing inadvertent airbag deployments. The safety hazards thus created are significant and dangerous, and owners further complain that BMW had longstanding knowledge of the defect and failed to disclose or correct the problem.
If you are a BMW owner or lessee and have experienced liquid spills in the front compartment cup holders that could have threatened the integrity and proper functioning of the vehicle airbags, we urge you to contact a vehicle defect lawyer at Lieff Cabraser today about your case and potential recovery.
