Pearson Education Privacy Violations
Alarming reports indicate that Pearson Education is secretly and illegally embedding computer code in its website to send Pearson’s subscribers’ personal information and video watching history on to Meta without their consent. Lieff Cabraser’s Privacy and Cybersecurity practice group is actively investigating these reports and considering legal action against Pearson. Pearson has not disclosed this tracking or obtained necessary consent for these actions, which violates the law.
Pearson is the largest publisher of college textbooks in the United States, but also provides course-specific videos to subscribers online, who are now being illegally tracked.
