Illegal Property Insurance Increases
Lieff Cabraser is investigating consumer complaints that property insurers have illegally increased their prices.
Insurance companies are hiking premiums across the country. The Wall Street Journal reports, “Since the start of the last year, double-digit rate increases have been approved in 31 states.” They increased rates more than 10 percent in Florida, Nebraska, New Mexico, Wisconsin, and other states. Insurers have been even more aggressive elsewhere, raising prices up to 30 percent in Arizona, Illinois, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Utah. Meanwhile, insurance companies are reducing coverage by increasing deductibles and adding new coverage limits.
If the cost of your property insurance policy increased, we encourage you to contact a consumer protection lawyer at Lieff Cabraser. The information you provide will help us investigate misconduct and hold insurers accountable.
