AT&T Data Breach Investigation on behalf of Verizon, T-Mobile, and other non-AT&T subscribers
Lieff Cabraser is investigating AT&T on behalf of non-AT&T subscribers who called or texted with AT&T subscribers and suffered harm as a result of a vast AT&T data breach.
Earlier this year, AT&T suffered a massive data breach affecting “nearly all” of its more than 100 million subscribers. This data breach not only harmed AT&T subscribers, but also every non-AT&T subscriber who called or texted with an AT&T subscriber as well. Reportedly, AT&T was targeted because it failed to employ basic cybersecurity measures to protect its data about who its subscribers communicated with, including non-AT&T subscribers.
In July 2024, AT&T acknowledged the breach to the federal authorities, and began notifying its customers of the breach. According to AT&T, the stolen information includes “phone call and text message records,” including phone numbers subscribers have interacted with. Hackers have now begun listing the call and text message data they stole for sale on the dark web.
