Apple iPhone 16 Personalized Siri Investigation

Apple marketed the iPhone 16 as offering AI-enabled features, including, most notably, an upgraded Siri personal assistant able to offer personal context to its responses. In fact, in a prominent commercial, an iPhone user, upon seeing a somewhat familiar face, asks Siri, “What’s the name of that guy I had a meeting with a couple of months ago” at the café? Siri then provides a name, saving the iPhone user from embarrassment.

This feature was not available on the iPhone 16 when it shipped in fall 2024. On March 7, 2025, Apple announced that AI-driven features for the iPhone may be delayed until 2026.
