Weight-Control Drug Injuries, Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy and Zepboud
Patients using Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound for chronic weight management are reporting serious gastric injuries that are not included in drug package warnings
We are pursuing personal injury and/or wrongful death claims for patients injured by Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy and/or other related drugs used for weight loss. Claims we are pursuing include those for hospitalizations, stomach problems, severe stomach paralysis, known as gastroparesis, and other serious injuries. Ozempic and Wegovy (semaglutide), manufactured by Novo Nordisk, and Mounjaro and Zepbound (tirzepatide), manufactured by Eli Lilly, are injectable prescription drugs used to treat type 2 diabetes and obesity.
Studies have shown that many diabetes patients suffering from chronic obesity do not know they may already have mild diabetic gastroparesis until they take a drug like Ozempic or Mounjaro, both of which drugs may seriously and permanently injure or kill them. Another study found that those who use these drugs face increased risks of gastroparesis and bowel obstruction.
We believe the labels on these drugs fail to fully warn of the true nature and severity of the adverse effects, and they do not even mention gastroparesis. Had patients known the true and hidden danger of these drugs, they would likely have avoided the drugs.

About Lieff Cabraser’s Personal Injury/Product Liability Practice Group
Lieff Cabraser has played a leading role in many of the largest, most important personal injury law and wrongful death lawsuits in the U.S. These cases have involved negligent conduct as well as a vast range of defective products — including dangerous prescription drugs like the opioids that were overdistributed and overprescribed to harm communities nationwide and products like talcum powder linked to ovarian cancer, faulty medical devices, unsafe vehicles, and dangerous consumer products. In many cases, in addition to financial recovery, we have assisted our clients in persuading corporate defendants to issue recalls and otherwise improve their safety procedures and oversight for the protection of all consumers and patients.
