McKinsey & Company National Prescription Opiate Consultant Litigation

Lieff Cabraser is court-appointed Lead Counsel in a multidistrict litigation (MDL No. 2996) against management consultant McKinsey & Company, Inc. Filed in 2021, the lawsuit alleges that McKinsey strategized and acted with Purdue Pharma LP and various other opioid manufacturers to create and employ marketing and sales practices to maximize opioid revenues. McKinsey previously agreed to pay $600 million to settle lawsuits by state attorneys general that sought to hold McKinsey accountable for its work with the opioid industry. McKinsey is currently under criminal investigation by the Department of Justice (DOJ) for its opioid work.
