Paraquat Parkinson’s Injuries

Paraquat Exposure and Parkinson’s Disease Investigation

Lieff Cabraser’s injury lawyers are actively investigating reports alleging a link between use of the pesticide paraquat and Parkinson’s Disease. There are also widespread claims of accidental poisoning deaths caused by paraquat.

Recent studies have found an “association” between paraquat exposure and subsequent development of Parkinson’s Disease. Occupational exposure to paraquat occurs in certain agricultural/farm workers, particularly those working with soybeans, corn, cotton, orchards, and pasture and hay in California’s Central Valley and the Midwest.

“We should never have been using paraquat in the first place,” said Nathan Donley, senior scientist at the Center for Biological Diversity, who references the pesticide’s devastating impact on wildlife as well as humans. “The science is really clear on the link to Parkinson’s.” The Intercept, March 24, 2021
