Online Video Privacy Violations
Alarming reports indicate that a wide range of websites that use video are secretly and illegally embedding computer code from Meta in their sites to send subscribers’ personal information and video watching history to Meta without their consent. Lieff Cabraser’s Privacy and Cybersecurity practice group is actively investigating these reports and considering legal action against these various companies.
The reports note that these sites have not disclosed this tracking or obtained necessary consent for these actions, which violates the law.
