On, Friday, November 8, 2019, Lieff Cabraser partner Kelly M. Dermody moderated a plenary session entitled “The Power of People Analytics” at The American Bar Association’s 13th Annual Labor and Employment Law conference in New Orleans.

Panelists discussed how employers are leveraging HR or “talent” analytics to make employment decisions and to improve the way their organizations identify, attract, develop, and retain talent. They reviewed the science behind the so-called “people analytics,” how C-Suites and HR teams are using this data publicly and internally for diversity and inclusion purposes, and the many litigation-related questions this data collection and analysis raises. The discussion concluded with the speakers providing insights into whether the use of people analytics is more helpful or hurtful to workplaces and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
