Earlier in the Case

Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP, along with Hawaiʻi attorneys Terry Revere & Associates, Kyle Smith, and Richard Wilson, filed a class action lawsuit in Hawaiʻi state court on behalf of Maui residents, property owners, and businesses who suffered losses from the Maui Fires. On June 19, 2025, Judge Peter T. Cahill of Hawaiʻi’s Second Circuit Court granted preliminary approval of a proposed class settlement covering these claims. A final approval hearing before Judge Cahill is scheduled for January 8, 2025.

The Maui fires are the deadliest and most devastating in Hawaiʻi’s recorded history, burning thousands of acres and destroying over two thousands structures. Our hearts are with all who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods in this tragedy.
