Hazam will be discussing the Benicar prescription drug litigation at the 15th Anniversary of the Mass Torts Made Perfect Seminar on April 17, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Attorneys from across the nation attend the annual conference to learn from leaders of the plaintiffs’ bar of the latest developments in lawsuits involving defective and dangerous prescription drugs, medical devices, and other products that collectively have injured tens of thousands of Americans.
Lieff Cabraser attorneys Wendy R. Fleishman and Lexi J. Hazam have been chosen by the American Association for Justice for inclusion in their 2015 Leadership Academy. An initiative of AAJ’s Diversity Committee, the Leadership Academy selects 12 plaintiff trial lawyers from different backgrounds and practice areas to develop their leadership roles within AAJ through workshops, training sessions, and conventions.

The conference will take place in San Francisco, CA on April 20, 2015. Panelists will provide an introduction and insight to law firms that do not already have a mass torts practice area. Each panelist will go over their experience with mass torts, explain the key litigation stages of a mass tort, and the risks and awards of having a mass tort practice area.
Across the nation, from Seattle to Pittsburgh to North Carolina and Florida, hospital officials have revealed that patients have tested positive for drug-resistant “superbug” bacteria after being examined with a special kind of endoscope, called a duodenoscope. At the same time, some of these same officials assert that they have no evidence the medical scopes at their facility actually transmitted the infections.

Hazam will be featured on a panel discussing the prescription drug Benicar. Hazam will also be addressing the science behind the plaintiffs’ claims.
