Fiat Chrysler 2019 Vehicle Emissions Recall
In March 2019, Fiat Chrysler announced a recall of more than 860,000 gasoline-powered vehicles in the U.S. that do not meet EPA emissions requirements. As reported by the EPA and the California Air Resources Board, the recall “was prompted by in-use emissions investigations conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency and in-use testing by Fiat Chrysler as required by U.S. regulations.”
The recall, covering 863,000 U.S. vehicles, includes:
- 2011-2016 Dodge Journeys
- 2011-2014 Chrysler 200s and Dodge Avengers
- 2011-2012 Dodge Calibers
- 2011-2016 Jeep Compass/Patriots.
Fiat Chrysler indicated on-the-road testing showed a deterioration in the performance of emissions controls in the affected vehicles.
