Sponsored by the American Bar Association’s Section of Labor and Employment Law, the competition introduces law students to the challenges and rewards of employment and labor litigation.
Legal news service Law360 has announced the winners of its Practice Groups of the Year award, “awarded to firms that came through for their clients in 2014, sealing the big deals and winning the high-stakes suits.” Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein was selected as Law360’s Product Liability Group of the Year.
Lieff Cabraser attorneys and staff participated today in the Bay Area Lawyer Die-In For Racial Justice on the front steps of the California Supreme Court building in San Francisco. The participants called for an end to the use of excessive force, police brutality, and racial profiling in communities of color.

Benchmark Litigation, a publication of the UK-based Legal Media Group (which also produces Institutional Investor), has published its 2015 profile of U.S. law firms – “the eighth annual edition… [of] the definitive guide to America’s leading litigation firms and attorneys.” Although the publication focuses primarily on defense firms, we received the highest ranking for law firms with California offices and the second highest ranking for law firms with New York offices. The comments about our firm include “nationally known and respected,” “plaintiff powerhouse,” and “hardest working and ethical.”
Law360, a legal news service, has selected Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein as one of the nation’s Most Feared Plaintiffs Firms of 2014 in its second annual list. Law360 observed that Lieff Cabraser’s active involvement in cases this year, including the litigation against General Motors’ faulty ignition switches, the employment and gender bias case against Goldman Sachs Group, and the $39 million class settlement against Bank of America and Merrill Lynch & Co.
